Zoning Administrator Jeff Ashauer said it has been the county's practice to grant special use permits for propane tanks, provided the tanks meet the State Fire Marshal's safety requirements.

He said the permit stipulates that the tanks be located at least 1,000 feet from any structure on the property and 2,000 feet from any structure off the property.

The board also passed a resolution to loan up to $15,000 to Hair, Etc. at three percent interest for five years.

Hair, Etc., owned and operated by Katie Houghland, is moving from rented facilities on St. Louis Ave. to a home on Parker Street in Pinckneyville.

The business has been in operation for three years.

Treasurer Bill Taylor said that the county's revolving loan fund currently has a balance of $170,000.

In other business, the board:

passed a resolution approving a memorandum of understanding between the Perry County Emergency Management Agency and Pinckneyville Community Hospital District.

approved a zoning special use permit for Jaclyn Sisk to place a 10 year-old mobile home on a 10 acre site owned by Sam White. The permit also re-divides the 10 acre site from a 160 acre parcel. It is located in the northwest corner of Perry County. Ashauer said he did not know why the 10 acre site had been consolidated, but the permit will correct that.
