VOLLEYBALL: DMS wins 10th game; #204 tops Tamaroa

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The DuQuoin Middle School volleyball team continues to add to their winning record. On Thursday evening, DuQuoin handily beat Pinckneyville in two games. Both the eighth grade and seventh grade won their matches 2-0 over Pinckneyville.

The eighth grade game scores were 25-14 and 25-13. DMS&#39;s eighth grade record is now 10-2-1 overall and 5-2 in the Conference. Hope Fenton, Amanda Atteberry, and Jacqueline Harsy each had two kills to lead the team. Carissa Graham led in assists with 5.

Sydney Lewis had a great night at the serving line going 17-18, scoring 17 points with 12 aces and getting the Warriors off to a 17-0 start in the second game.

Amber Williams was 9-10 at the serving line, scoring 8 points with 5 aces. The entire team had a super night on serves with 22 total aces. Isaac Miller is the eight grade team coach.

Starting for Pinckneyville were Brittany Lowe, Kaitlyn Goldman, Ashley Maxey, Keelyn Stein, Taylor Griffin and Kaitlyn Sweeney.

The seventh grade game scores were 25-18 and 25-16. The seventh grade record is now 8-1 overall and 7-0 in the conference. Sydney Valier led in kills with 3. Alaina Caldwell led in assists with 3. Abigail Vancil was 10-10 at the serving line scoring 7 points with 2 aces. Sydney Lewis was 10-11 at the serving line scoring 9 points with 5 aces. The seventh grade is coached by Staci Davis.

The DMS team schedule for next week is as follows: Tuesday, March 1, at Benton Grade School (5:30); Wednesday, March 2, at Trico Jr. High School (4:15); Thursday, March 3, at Carbondale Middle School (4:30); Friday, March 4, at Home with Massac County Jr. High (5:00).

The Junior Panthers host Trico on Monday (4:00 p.m.), followed by a trip to Nashville (4:00 p.m.) on Tuesday.

<u>Tigers take care of Indians</u>

Pinckneyville District #204 knocked off Tamaroa in volleyball action Thursday night, outscoring the Lady Indians 25-11 and 25-13.

Players seeing action for the Tigers were Caitie Opp, Sophie Keith, Taylor Smith, Kristin Kellerman, Courtney Kellerman and Megan Bagley.

For the Indians, the starters were captains Cassie Andrade and Tamara Williams along with Starr Haun, Raven Alvis, Chelsey Moss and Steph Lunnemann. Olivia Szczeanski also saw action for Tamaroa.

Dist. #204 hosts Chester St. John on Monday, February 28 (6:00 p.m.) in their next contest.
