CHS students demonstrate character.
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ (Pictured left to right) Ashley Butz, Jon Hoffman and Lauren Hoops, all Chester High School students, were recently presented with the CHS Reid's/Quality Character Awards for demonstrating character traits that are considered to be positive. Butz was nominated by Brenda Coop, CHS Computer Teacher, for assisting another student who had registered for her class late and needed help catching up with work and assignments. Hoffman was nominated by Mike Coffey, CHS Athletic Director for honesty. Hoffman found $20.00 at school and turned it in the Coffey who was able to return it to the student who had lost it originally. Finally Hoops was nominated by CHS Physical Education Teacher, Erin Oglesby, for assisting a physically disabled student in the weight room during P.E. Class. According to Oglesby, Hoops is always willing to help other students when necessary. The ongoing character education program at CHS is sponsored by Brad and Tia Reid of Reid's Harvest House in Chester and Dale Rucker of Quality Vending and Quality Car Wash of Chester. Each recipient received a Reid's gift cars for a free meal and drink at Reid's harvest House and a coupon for a free soda at the CHS Student Council Concession Stand.
