PCHS to donate 50/50 proceeds to Jeff Profitt

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Pinckneyville Community High School has announced that the 50/50 drawing at Friday night's high school boys basketball game between Du Quoin and Pinckneyville at PCHS's Thomas Gymnasium will benefit longtime Du Quoin Evening Call Sports Editor Jeff Profitt.

Jeff suffered a hemorrhagic stroke in late August and is currently recovering and undergoing therapy at Fair Acres Nursing Home in Du Quoin. Through the generosity of family, friends, and fans, approximately $1250 was raised last fall at Van Metre Stadium during an Indians' football game. Another $600 was raised during the holidays for purchase of a laptop computer and internet service for Jeff. Another $400 has been made in direct donations to Jeff's father, Bob.

The public again has a chance to make a difference in Jeff's well-being Friday night, thanks to Pinckneyville Community High School's generous gesture of donating the proceeds from a traditionally healthy 50/50 drawing.
