VOLLEYBALL: DMS, PJHS, St. Bruno win openers

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Du Quoin Middle School knocked off Pinckneyville (District #204) in girls&#39; volleyball action on Thursday night, the first game of the new season for both schools.

After claiming both the sixth and seventh grade matchups, DMS took the varsity game with a 25-17, 25-17 score.

DMS (1-0) plays next on Thursday, February 10 at Chester (4:30 p.m.) while Pinckneyville (Dist. #204) is at home on Monday to take on Oakdale (6:00 p.m.).

<u>PJHS tops Tamaroa</u>

Pinckneyville Junior High School (District #50) won their season opener for girls&#39; volleyball on Wednesday night, knocking off Tamaroa 25-14 and 25-18.

The Junior Lady Panthers are 1-0, Tamaroa fell to 0-1.

PJHS also took home the win in junior varsity action 25-9 and 25-4.

Pinckneyville (Dist. #50) takes on St. Bruno on Tuesday, February 8 in their next contest.

<u>St. Bruno defeats Elverado</u>

Elverado Junior High School dropped their first game of the season on Wednesday night, falling to St. Bruno 25-16, 25-11.

Jessica Compton had 3 pionts for the Falcons, Conner Dunmyer and Baylie McClanahan each had 2, Alishia Schoenenberger 1.

St. Bruno also claimed the win in the seventh grade contest (25-9, 25-11) and the sixth grade contest (21-16, 19-14).
