Chelsea Cochran connected with a three-pointer with 4:00 left in the third period to tie the game at 26-26, but back to back buckets by the Lady Pioneers restored a four-point lead.
Meghann Trammel hit one-of-two at the line with 2:35 left in the quarter, then Sami Hicks sank a runner in the lane to cut Trico's lead to 30-29 heading to the fourth quarter.
Hicks tied the game at 31-31 with a pair of free throws with 5:41 to play, but the Lady Falcons couldn't find the bucket the rest of the way, turning it over five times in the closing four minutes.
Hicks and Cochran - both honored as seniors on this year's squad - each finished with a team-high 10 points for EHS. Lacey Qualls added 5 points, Rebecca Korando 4 and Trammel 2.
Nine of Cochran's 10 came on three-pointers, Qualls also connected from downtown. Hicks was a perfect 6-for-6 at the free throw line in the game.
The Lady Falcons now must get ready for next week's regional, which they host at Elverado High School beginning on Monday.
Elveardo plays the 8:00 p.m. game against third-seeded Sandoval, which follows the 6:00 contest between No. 4 Wayne City and No. 5 Bluford (Webber).
