Perry County Deputy John Hopkins Retires
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Perry County Sheriff Keith Kellerman today announced the retirement of Deputy John Hopkins from the Perry County Sheriff's Office. John retired January 31, 2011.
Deputy Hopkins has served the citizens of Perry County for approximately 25 years. Deputy Hopkins worked during the tenure of four different sheriffs; Sheriff Eddie Rainwater, Sheriff Jerry Woolsey, Sheriff Sam Hiller and Sheriff Keith Kellerman. John also worked as a patrol officer for the Pinckneyville Police Department.
Said Kellerman, "John has served the citizens dutifully for approximately 25 years helping citizens in a variety of ways and deserves time to relax and enjoy more time hunting and fishing which he has always loved. I and all employees of the sheriff's office wish John and his family a happy and healthy retirement. John's services will be truly missed."
Wife Debbie is manager of the North Hickory Street Casey's in Du Quoin.
