</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Can you imagine giving a whole years' worth of income to Jesus all at one time? What about your life's savings? That is exactly what a lady did nearly 2,000 years ago (Mark 14:1-10; Matt. 26.6-12). She poured out an expensive bottle of perfume, worth a year's wages for a laborer or soldier, all over Jesus' feet. Many of the people who witnessed her pour the "liquid gold" over His feet assessed her actions as "sheer waste". Her loving gesture may have been condemned by people, but they were not wasted according to Jesus. He was so impressed by her heart that He said her display of affection and giving would be talked about as long He would be talked about (Mark 14.9). This Sunday at 10:30 AM, Pastor Mike will continue the "iMite" series with "iMite Give the Best I Have." He follows up with last Sunday's message on the widow's mite with a sermon on the woman's alabaster jar. Whereas the widow gave even though it hurt, the woman with the jar of perfume gave the very best she had to offer Jesus. See how a woman's action in the Ancient Near East can teach us how and why to give our best to God . . . even when those around us say we are "wasting" our time or resources. Be sure to hear this encouraging and educational message.
