BASKETBALL: Keith scores 26 as PCHS girls beat Okawville

"I thought we got out and defended pretty well for the second straight game, so that is a positive sign," said PCHS girls head coach Alan Engelhardt. "Our effort today was tremendous. If Okawville was able to break our press, we did a great job of sprinting back and not just conceding points; that is a great step forward."

After a 9-9 first quarter, PCHS began to pull away from there on getting 40 points from their post players Keith and Taylor Cicardi (14).

"We shared the ball better tonight than we have all year, getting post touches and playing though our cutters," Engelhardt said. "Our interior passing was very good, and we gathered and finished around the rim."

Dani Jenkel added 9 points for PCHS, Mo Ramsey 8 and Lindsey Winter 2.

The Lady Panthers (6-4) play at home on Monday in a rescheduled game against Carterville. Weather forced the cancellation of the game last Thursday night.
