BASKETBALL: Lincoln Land cruises in home opener

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Lincoln Land Community College opened their home schedule with a blowout victory on Wednesday night, putting away Hannibal LaGrange 85-23 behind a team-high 14 points from Drew Dudek (Pinckneyville, IL).

The Loggers jumped out in front 40-12 by halftime and only extended their lead after the break. LLCC shot 56.9% (29/51) in the game and 81.5% (22/27) from the line while scoring 31 points off of Hannibal turnovers and winning the rebounding battle 38-19.

Dudek was 5-of-7 from the floor and 3-for-3 at the free throw line while sinking 1-of-3 three-pointers. The Pinckneyville graduate also led LLCC with 3 assists and in minutes played with 20:56.

Matt Gossett (Du Quoin, IL) was 3-of-4 from the field for 6 points and also grabbed a game-high 5 rebounds.

Blake Burgess (12 points) and Ben Jones (10) were also in double figures for the Loggers (2-3).

Lincoln Land returns to action on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. when they host the University of Wisconsin-Rock County.
