BASKETBALL: DMS girls fall at Trico

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Tuesday evening was not successful for the DuQuoin Middle School eighth grade girls basketball team. They lost to a much larger Trico team 39-12. This loss brings their record to 5-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

Coach Debbie Ritter said, "we never could get into the swing of things, and Trico&#39;s outside shooting really hurt us."

Scoring for DuQuoin: Amanda Atteberry 2, Jessica Harsy 2, Jacqueline Harsy 6, and Andrea Morgan 2.

The seventh grade team, however, was successful. The Warriors played a very tough game. With two minutes to go in the game, they were down by eight points, and managed to come back and tie the game sending it into overtime. In overtime, the Warriors held Trico scoreless and were able to pull out the win with a score of 23-21. Their overall record is 2-2 and 2-0 in the conference. The seventh grade is coached by Chuck Montgomery.

Scoring for the seventh graders: Alaina Caldwell 4, Brittany Clark 4, Sydney Lewis 6, Timbra Mansfield 4, Andrea Morgan 4, and Emily Born 2.
