BASKETBALL: DMS, TSB girls win at #204 Tourney

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The DuQuoin Middle School girls basketball team continued to win in the District #204 Tournament on Tuesday evening. DuQuoin played Pinckneyville District #50, and was able to win a very close game 25-21. DuQuoin is now 2-0 in the tournament and 4-1 overall.

According to Coach Debbie Ritter, Pinckneyville had a very good zone defense that made it difficult for DuQuoin to get the ball inside. "But we stuck in there and got the job done."

Jacqueline Harsy led Du Quoin with 8 points, Carissa Graham 5, Marisa Ferguson 4, Jessica Harsy 4, Amanda Atteberry 2.

Stein finished with 8 points for Dist. #204, Yates 7, Jones, Griffin, Goldman each had 2.

DuQuoin plays again in the tournament against Sparta on Wednesday at 5:15 for the large school championship.

<u>Tamaroa-St. Bruno tops TSJ-Nashville</u>

After falling to Steeleville on Monday, the Tamaroa-St. Bruno Lady Indians responded with a slim 16-14 victory over TSJ-Nashville last night, improving to 4-5 on the season and 1-1 in the Pinckneyville Dist. #204 tournament.

In the loss to Steeleville, Kaylee Rulevish led the way with 8 points and 8 rebounds, Dalis Hubler added 7 points and 4 steals (Cassie Andrade also finished with 4 steals). Tamara Williams chipped in 7 rebounds.

Against TSJ, Rulevish was again the leading scorer with 11 points, and the leading rebounder with 10. Hubler&#39;s 6 steals led the way, Williams added 6 boards. Chelsey Moss completed the starting lineup for the Lady Indians in both contests.

Up next for TSB on Wednesday afternoon is the host #204 Tigers at 4:00 p.m.
