After golf, the ladies enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared by the Country Club staff. The players whose ball landed on the #5 Green and stayed on received a Susan G. Komen logo ball. Cheryl Saak was the winner of the #5 Hybrid club for having her ball land closes to the flag on #5. Also we gave out an assortment of attendance prizes.
Co-Chairmen Judy Petrowske and Bev Allison were very appreciative of the community support for this very worthwhile project. We would like to extend our sincere thank you to the below listed Businesses and Organizations for their very generous monetary donations and items to be used for attendance prizes: Fisher, Kerkhover & Coffey Law Office, Chester Insurance Agency, Larry Burton of State Farm Insurance, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 487, Knights of Columbus Council 3790, Chester National Bank, Chester Country Club Ladies, Chester Country Club Tuesday Ladies League, Reid's Harvest House, Rozier's Country Market; Casey's, Chester Video-Rough House Pizza, Buena Vista National Bank, Memorial Hospital, Buena Vista National Bank, American Legion Post #487, Rhonda Bockhorn, Mary Long, Joan Montroy and Betty Wagner.
Bev Allison noted that due to the overwhelming support from the community this year, the total amount forwarded to the Susan G. Komen Foundation was $825.00. Judy Petrowske stated that cancer has touched many lives in our community, but with team effort as witnessed this year, it is evident that this community is concerned to someday find a cure for this disease. The "9th Annual Rally for A Cure" will surely be scheduled on the Chester Country Club calendar in 2011 as a means to raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
