SWIC to offer free GED classes in Red Bud

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Southwestern Illinois College is offering a free GED class in Red Bud that begins soon. The GED class helps prepare people who have not received a high school diploma to take a test to receive a high school equivalency certificate.

The five subject areas of the GED test - writing, social studies, science, reading and math - are covered in the classes.

The evening class meets from 6-8:50 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, from Thursday, Oct. 14 to Thursday, Nov. 18 at the SWIC Red Bud Campus, 500 W. South Fourth St. Registration is part of the first class session.
