VOLLEYBALL: DHS second in Marion Tourney
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ It was a long day at the Marion volleyball tournament, but a productive one for the DuQuoin Indians.
Unfortunately, DuQuoin had to play at 9:00 a.m. against the host, Marion. DuQuoin came out on the losing end of that match 2-0. Game scores were 25-19 and 29-27 with Marion on top.
DuQuoin then met Herrin in the second match of the day winning that match 2-0. Game scores were 25-14 and 25-18. The third match had DuQuoin playing NCOE (Norris City, Omaha, Enfield). Again, DuQuoin was victorious taking the match 2-0. Game scores were DuQuoin 25-16 and 25-11.
In the fourth match of the day, DuQuoin chalked up another win beating Harrisburg 2-0. The scores from that match were DuQuoin 25-19 and 25-11.
DuQuoin finished the day at 3-1. That placed them second in the tournament. Only Marion had a better record at 4-0 to win the tournament. DuQuoin's overall record is 21-7.
Two DuQuoin players made the all-tournament team. Kelsey Toler and Keawna Anders were honored for their play during the tournament. Congratulations to both players.
DuQuoin plays at home on Tuesday with Nashville. This will be a big conference match for the Indians. On Thursday, DuQuoin travels to Anna-Jonesboro for another S.I.R.R. conference match.
