All seventh and eighth grade students in the surrounding areas are welcome to attend the event.

The day is designed to introduce seventh and eighth grade students to a variety of high school level courses, interact with current high school students, and meet skilled and qualified secondary education faculty and staff members.

The day will also include a student forum, in which visiting students will discuss with Christ Our Savior students and faculty any topics or questions they might have about the expectations of high school.

Christ Our Savior will also host an afternoon devotion with a message provided from new principal Mr. John Christman.

"This event will focus on preparing students for what they are about to encounter in the next year or two," states Mrs. Rachel Mehring, admissions director at Christ Our Savior. "Within our local community of elementary and secondary schools, we have an opportunity to work together to prepare our students for a successful future education-both high school and beyond."

Over the past 10 years, Christ Our Savior's graduates have excelled in prominent careers. While entering into such fields as engineering, medicine, marketing, journalism and broadcasting, education, and ministry, graduates have also been accepted into collegiate athletics on scholarship.

Recent ACT scores were at an overall high with an average composite score of 26 compared to the Illinois state average of 20.7. Currently, Christ Our Savior's class of 2010 has 100% of its graduates enrolled at the college of their choice.

"At Christ Our Savior, we have the unique position to share our perspective on high school education. We have a strong track record of academic excellence, producing successful graduates who go on to prestigious careers," states Christman.

If interested in sending a seventh or eighth grade student to the High School Readiness Day, please call Rachel Mehring or John Christman at 618-853-7300 for more information. This event is free of charge; however, registration is required. If not able to attend, interested families can schedule a specific opportunity for their son/daughter to shadow a student at Christ Our Savior.
