FOOTBALL: Ham-Co tops Elverado-Trico
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Hamilton County jumped on top 20-0 and Elverado-Trico could never get back into the game this past Friday, as the Foxes stormed to a 67-20 Black Diamond conference win over the Falcons in McLeansboro.
Foxes' QB Adam Irvin passesd for 235 yards and four touchdowns for Hamilton County, and Steven Lemmons had 10 carries for 70 yards and three TDs to lead the ground attack.
E-T clawed to within 26-14 with 5:26 left in the opening half after Alex McGill connected with Bryce Mathis for a 43-yard touchdown, but the Foxes scored the next four touchdowns of the game to put it out of reach.
Dalton Porter led the Falcons rushing game with 74 yards on 9 carries, Randy Goetz had 30 yards (10 carries), McGill 29 (8 carries). McGill was also 11-for-22 passing for 106 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
Porter had 5 catches for 11 yards, Goetz 3-13 and Mathis 1-43.
Ham-Co outgained the Falcons on the ground 441 yards to 239 in the contest.
Elverado-Trico (0-6) is on the road again in week seven at Sesser-Valier.
