GOLF: Nashville wins back-to-back boys' SIRR titles
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Nashville claimed the boys' Southern Illinois River-to-River Mississippi division title yesterday at Stone Creek Golf Club in Makanda with a 14-stroke margin back to second place Carterville, the third championship for the Hornets in the last five seasons.
Nashville's Colin Sachtleben shot 75 (+3) for the best individual score in the Mississippi Division, and the Hornets' totalled 324 strokes as a team.
Rounding out the Mississippi's top five were Kyle Mueller (Nashville), Jeff Buritsch (Carterville), and Chance Reuter (Nashville) and Jordan Thompson (Sparta) tied for fourth.
The top Perry County finisher in the event was Pinckneyville's Adam Valentine who tied for ninth.
Kyle Brocaille (103), Will Travis (127), Drew Lipe (133) and Michael Siefert (143) also competed for the Panthers.
Du Quoin's individual scores for the tournament were Jacob Fisher (92), Jacob Stanhouse (97), Nolan Graham (106), Brandon Woodside (109), Howard Kelly (120), Matt Mason (124).
Also at the event, Murphysboro (310) claimed the Ohio Division title and Red Devils junior Drew Novara edged Benton's Thomas Simpson in a four-hole playoff to win the individual medal.
