VOLLEYBALL: DHS tops A-J

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ The DuQuoin Lady Indians were able to win a conference match (2-0) over Anna-Jonesboro Tuesday evening at home. DuQuoin won the two games 25-19 and 25-22. DuQuoin&#39;s record overall is now 16-5 and 3-2 in the conference.

Coach Isaac Miller was very pleased with his team&#39;s performance. He commented that "Cassidy Rice is back for us, and she helped us in the back row and made some good plays. Kelsey Toler had her best night at the net, and did a good job. It was nice to win over A-J. It was nice to get back on track with a big win."

Kelsey Toler and Rebekah Maddox led in kills with 11 and 8. Michaela Brown had two kills, Keawna Anders had 3, Megi Jones 3, and Jessica Martin 1. Ashley Ward led in digs with 8, followed by Martin with 7, Rice had 3, and Jones 1. Megi Jones led in assists with 15, Martin had 3, and Jessica Hirsch 2.

Points scored on serve were as follows: Jones 5 (1 ace), Ward 1, Brown 6, Hirsch 3, Rice 2, and Anders 6 (1 ace).

The Junior Varsity were not as fortunate as the Varsity and lost to Anna-Jonesboro 2-0. Game scores were 25-20 and 25-12. Their record is 2-5 overall.

The Volleyball Freshmen continued their winning ways and beat Anna-Jonesboro 2-0 with scores of 21-16 and 21-19. The Freshmen team record is 12-1.

DuQuoin plays at home on Thursday evening against another conference foe, Sparta. Freshman games start at 5:30 p.m. followed by the Junior Varsity at 6:30, and the Varsity at about 7:30.
