Du Quoin Men Arrested for Contempri Robberies
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Two Du Quoin men were arrested on multiple charges after Pinckneyville Police observed them forcing entry into the Contempri Homes building at 1000 West Water Street at 9:05 p.m. on Sept. 23. The men removed three spools of electrical wiring from the building.
Vernelet B. Peters, 43, was arrested on charges of criminal damage to property, burglary, theft and possession of burglary tools for the Sept. 23 incident, burglary, theft and criminal damage to property for a Sept. 7 incident and theft and burglary for an Aug. 30 incident.
Joseph D. Cole, 44, Du Quoin, was arrested on charges of theft, burglary and possession of burglary tools on Sept. 23 and theft, criminal damage to property and burglary for a Sept. 7 incident.
The arrests were made in conjunction with an ongoing investigation by the Pinckneyville Police Department. There were multiple burglaries.
Peters and Cole are being held in Perry County Jail.
