GOLF: Murphy boys dominant vs. DHS, PCHS; Lady Panthers win

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Murphysboro left Red Hawk Country Club on Thursday afternoon with a dominant 25-stroke team victory over teams from Du Quoin, Pinckneyville, Johnston City and Chester as all four scores posted for the Red Devils were 40 or below. Murphy&#39;s Kody Rendleman shot 37 to take the individual medal.

Three shots off Rendleman&#39;s pace was Adam Valentine, whose birdie on the opening hole aided him in a round of 40 to lead Pinckneyville. PCHS&#39;s scoring was completed by Kyle Brocaille (47), Will Travis (48) and Patrick Kovic (53), good enough for a team total of 188 and fourth place of the five teams.

Jacob Fisher&#39;s 42 led Du Quoin, which finished third in the match with a team total of 185. Also posting scores for the Indians were Jacob Stanhouse (45), Howard Kelly (48) and Braden Woodside (50).

<u>PCHS Girls top Trico, Steeleville:</u>

Heather McDaniel (42) and Olivia Mathis (43) led the way for the Lady Panthers at Pyramid Oaks Golf Course on Thursday, as PCHS took down Trico and Steeleville.

PCHS&#39;s team score of 184 also included rounds from Kelsey Cicardi (48) and Alexis Anderson (53).

Brooke Heisner (55) and Claire Wittenaure (57) also competed for the Lady Panthers.

Trico (193) finished second in the match, Steeleville (219) a distant third.
