Rotary Announces 'Greatest Generation' Book
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Du Quoin Rotary Club Tuesday hosted Democrat candidate for Illinois Senate (58th District) Jeremy Walker from Red Bud at its weekly meeting.
Walker is opposing Republican incumbent David Luechtefeld in November.
The meeting held at Francie's Bed & Breakfast also served to announce that the Rotary's "Greatest Generation" book project has been completed and went to the printer this week to be published and distributed before Veterans Day.
The project was begun 18 months ago and was a partnership between the Rotary and the American History class at the Du Quoin High School. More than 40 living World War II veterans were interviewed by high school students. Those biographies are being published in a softbound book to honor the "Greatest Generation."
The stories are inspiring.
Information about how the book will be distributed will be published as soon as that information becomes available.
Jeremy Walker recently hosted a press conference in front of the grandstand at the Du Quoin State Fair alongside Illinois Senate President Cullerton to show his continued support for funding of the Du Quoin State Fair.
Walker is a Southern Illinois resident. Born in rural Illinois, Jeremy was raised on his family's farm, and as a teenager, his family moved to the heart of the 58th district to Red Bud in Randolph County.

After earning his associate's degree, Jeremy attended college at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. There, he earned his bachelor's degree in Political Science with a minor in Agribusiness. After college, Jeremy continued his education at SIU-Carbondale where he earned his law degree.
Since becoming a licensed attorney, Jeremy has worked in a private law practice in Randolph County. He is a partner in the law firm of Arbeiter and Walker.

In 2005, Jeremy married Red Bud native Jennifer Gielow. Jennifer works at her family's long-standing small business in Red Bud. Jeremy and his wife recently had their first child, Grayson Glenn.
The son of a teacher and insurance agent, Jeremy worked his way through college and law school - which included working on his family's farm, at a local grocery store, on campus at SIUC and at Belleville Shoe Manufacturing.
