VOLLEYBALL: Du Quoin 11-3 overall after beating Carterville
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ The DuQuoin Indians Volleyball Team went to Carterville Thursday evening with a very "big broom", and swept Carterville in three matches--Freshmen, Junior Varsity, and Varsity.
The Varsity team continued their winning ways taking their match 2-0 with game scores of 25-21 and 25-20. The Varsity volleyball team is now 11-3 overall.
Rebekah Maddox led the way with 7 kills, Kelsey Toler added 5. Keawna Anders had 6 digs, Jessica Hirsch 4, and Megi Jones tallied the most assists with 12.
Coach Isaac Miller commented on the varsity match that "it wasn't the prettiest match, but anytime you can get a win, we will take it. I thought the team listened well on making adjustments throughout the match. That was the difference in the match."
DuQuoin travels to Massac County (Metropolis) for a tournament on Saturday. DuQuoin begins play against Weber Township at 10:00 in the morning.
The Freshman won their match 2-0 with games of 21-20 and 21-10. Their record is now 4-0. The Junior Varsity won their match 2-0 with games of 25-21 and 25-19. The Junior Varsity record is 1-3.
Bailie Caldwell had 4 kills and 11 service points in the J-V game, Hailey Stewart added 3 kills and 4 assists.
