Dist. 50 Board Review ISAT Scores

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The District 50 Board of Education reviewed the latest ISAT Scores for grades 3 through 8. The target for adequate yearly progress this year was 77 percent of students meeting or exceeding state standards.

In reading, third grade had 66.7 percent meet or exceed standards and seventh grade had 74.6 percent. However, the 83.3 percent of eighth graders met or exceeded reading standards.

In math, only sixth grade failed to make AYP, with 76.7 percent meeting or exceeding standards. The fourth grade had 92.9 percent meet or exceed standards.

This year, schools will have to have more than 80 percent meet or exceed standards to make adequate yearly progress.

In other business, the board:

accepted the resignations of fourth grade teacher Renee VanPelt, effective at the end of the 2011- 2012 school year and fifth grade teacher Deborah Plumlee, effective at the end of the 2012- 2013 school year.
