Chester Police investigate shooting of 9 year old boy

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Chester Police Department can confirm that a nine-year-old boy was shot in the leg on Monday evening, August 30th.

At approximately 8:00pm, police received a 911 call from a residence in the 400 block of West German Street in Chester. Upon arrival, police discovered the nine year old with what appeared to be a gunshot would to the leg. Upon further investigation police discovered that the shooter was his fifteen year old brother.

The fifteen year old has been taken into custody and is currently being held at the St. Clair County Juvenile Detention Center. The nine-year-old victim is currently being treated at a St. Louis hospital. Police will not comment any further on the case at this time.
