Police Chief gives report at council meeting
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Chief Coffey reported on the following topics at the August 2, 2010 City Council meeting:
He provided the council with information on another meeting he had with IDOT regarding the tractor-trailer traffic.
He reported on some changes in job duties with regard to Animal Control enforcement.
There were numerous investigative dispositions over the last month. Some of those dispositions include juvenile charges on three male subjects involved in a string of vandalism complaints in and around the 1600 and 1700 block of Oak and High Streets. The report included information on the status of a Federal Counterfeiting investigation, a car burglary investigation, an Arson investigation, and a recent Meth Lab bust.
The Chief reported on training that he is scheduled to attend next month. The training is designed for Senior Managers. The Illinois Training and Standards Board Executive Institute is sponsoring the seminar.
Also, Chief Coffey reported on a new feature on www.chesterpolicedepartment.com. The new feature is a link to information on what to look for when attempting to identify a suspected Meth Lab. The link is a page produced by the Illinois Attorney Generals Office. The link will also provide information on the dangers and health risks associated with the manufacturing and use of Meth.
In addition, he reported on plans to add detailed information on the Community Service Program on the website. The website feature will provide website visitors with information on the rules for Community Service participants and their families.
