Randolph County Fair race results
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[On Saturday morning the first ever Randolph County Fair Run for Fun took place. The race featured a 5K run/walk. Prior to the 5K a free 1 mile walk/run took off at 8 a.m. At 8:30 a.m. forty-three entrants from Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri took to the pavement in the inaugural run.
Race Results
The overall male winner was Trevor Morgan, 16 from Sparta with a time of 19:47. The overall female winner was Marla Rathjen, 49 from Jacob with a time of 21:28.
Winners in the 19 and under age division for males were Dustin Neff, Sparta, at 19:48, second Michael Hall, Sparta, at 23:27, and third place Matt Holdman, Sparta, with a 27:42. Female 19 and under winners were Kristina Wilson, Sparta, with a 24:33, second was Evelyn Epplin, Cutler, at 32:00 and third place went to Mallory Timpner, Pickneyville, at 32:01.
Male winners in the 20-29 age division were Trevor Bollman, Ava, crossing the line at 24:14, Andrew Dhalem, Sparta, came in second at 24:40 and third place went to Carl Adams, Sparta, with a time of 37:16. Female 20-29 winners were Arion Cox Milan, IL with a 27:33, second place went to Grayce Quigley Iowa City, IA with a time of 37:46.
Winners in the 30-39 age division for males were Gary Bubar, Marissa, crossing the tape at 24:27, followed by Dave Frederick , Scott AFB, with a 26:14, and Rob Snyder, Albers, came in third with a 27:33. For the females in the 30-39 age division the winner was Rhonda Schmidt, St. Libory, with a time of 24:04, followed by Joelle Macke, Trenton, at 27:36, and Shauna Lehman, Marissa, took third finishing in 29:26.
In the 40-49 age division the male winner was Kevin Leemon, Marissa, finishing in 23:35, followed by Chris Lingle, Chester, with 27:49 and third place went to Brent Easton with a time of 37:40. Female winners were Sue McMullan, New Athens, with a 33:52, followed by Laura Lingle, Chester, at 39:40.
In the 50 and over age division Lorren Beck, Freeburg, took first place for the men with a 24:10 and Debra Harp, Richmond Heights, Mo, took first place for the women with a 36:50.
In the Walker Division Jan Schwartz, Sparta, took first with a time of 40:36, followed by Charles Sheeler, Sparta, at 46:50, and third place went to Lindsay Perrine, Marissa, with a time of 55:26.
