Randolph County Progress Committee meeting

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Randolph County Progress Committee held their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, May 13. The meeting was called to order by President Dave Mevert.

Present: Dave Mevert, John Petkas, Butch Stellhorn and Bob Myerscough.

Excused: Ken Slavens, Terry Luehr, Terry Moore (Commissioners Mtg.) and Nancy Crossland (called in).

Review of minutes from 4/8/10 mtg. Motion to approve by John, second by Butch. All voted yes.

Review of Financial Report. Motion to approve by Bob, second by John. All voted yes.

Reviewed Community Pledge of Support.

Interim Coordinator Myerscough reviewed correspondence in and out of the office.

New Business: Interim Coordinator Myerscough reported on two site visits with potential industrial prospects since the April meeting and will advise on follow up negations.

Motion to move to executive session for personnel discussion by Bob M. second by John P. Motion; to end executive session by John P. seconded by Butch S.

Executive session resulted in approval to employ Chris Martin as Coordinator subject to employment agreement. Motion made by Bob M. and seconded by John P. All voted yes.

Myerscough introduced Chris Martin to the attendees as the new Coordinator of Economic Development, effective June 14, 2010.

Next meeting set for 12 noon on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Randolph County Courthouse.

Motion to adjourn by John, second by Butch. All voted yes. Meeting adjourned at 6:25 p.m.
