At the June 7, 2010 City Council meeting Chief Coffey spoke about his yearly review. This yearly review is a document that he provides the City Council for their benefit as a more efficient point of reference on the previous fiscal year's activities. The document is essentially a re-production of the monthly reports from the previous fiscal year. Chief Coffey begins and finishes this report to coincide with the fiscal year, rather than the calendar year, so that the activities can be more closely related to budget restrictions.
Chief Coffey reported briefly on the status of an attempt to request a reduced speed limit on Route 150 near Craig Manor. Mayor Eggemeyer and the Chief are working with IDOT on the request.
Chief Coffey also reported on a fundraiser he participated in with the Muscular Dystrophy Association and meeting that he had held with his staff in reference to specific departmental policies.
Other topics include an update on the implementation of the One Call Now Program, a training the Chief will be attending in reference to School Safety, and a visit from a local girl scout troop.
Chief Coffey also provided a report on specific city ordinance enforcement issues and provided a monthly report of statistics related to arrests and calls for service.
