Randolph County Genealogy Society moves to Steeleville

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[In February 2009, the Randolph County Genealogy Society had to evacuate the building they had occupied for nineteen years, in downtown Chester, because of structural damage due to snow and ice that winter. Their equipment and research library went into storage.

Since then, they had been looking for a new space for their office and research library. The Village of Steeleville, Illinois, several months ago, invited them to come to their town to occupy space available in a building they were acquiring from a retiring businessman of their town. R.C.G.S. accepted their invitation.

So, when all was ready, Randolph County Genealogy Society moved May 29th to #13 Westwood Dr., Steeleville, IL 62288. Since then they have been unpacking, getting everything in order. They will open on June 21st, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Their regular business hours will be Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

For visitors, not familiar with Steeleville street locations, Westwood Dr. is the first right turn, just as you get to the West side of Steeleville, on State Route 150, as you come from Chester. Drive one block on Westwood, turn left, and #13 is the first building on your right.
