Perry County Tax Bills in the Mail by End of June

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Perry County real estate tax bills could be in the mail by the end of June.

As soon as the final real estate tax multiplier is received from the Department of Revenue, County Clerk Kevin Kern&#39;s office will certify the extensions his office has been working on and pass the bills to Treasurer Bill Taylor for completion.

"I expect to get the final multiplier next week," Supervisor of Assessments John Batteau said.

Kern said that he could not speak for Taylor, but expected real estate tax bills would be in the mail by the end of June. He added that Taylor will probably set first and second payment installment deadlines six weeks apart.

"I just wanted to let the taxpayers know where we are," Kern said.

In other business, the board:

heard from Solid Waste Coordinator Becky Tracy that she has set a tentative date of July 24 for electronic recycling. Vintage Tech will supply labor and trucks. The e-cycling event will be held on the parking lot of the Perry County Government Building. Tracy said she is working to finalize a contract with Vintage Tech and asked that it be reviewed by State&#39;s Attorney David Stanton and placed on the agenda for the next meeting.

passed an ordinance approving a zoning ordinance amendment to rezone 12.5 acres on the south side of Rod & Gun Club Road from agricultural to R-2 residential. The land is owned by Bud Goeke.

passed resolutions to approve special use permits allowing placement of new manufactured homes on Route 13 one mile east of Winkle (Rhonda Schneider), on West Corgan Road (Tim Jablonski) and on the south side of Blue Bird Road (Mark Szczeblewski).

passed a resolution approving a special use permit to allow the construction of three cabins on the east side of County Line Road. Robert and Delma Odum have built two cabins for weekend and seasonal rental. Zoning Administrator Jeff Ashauer said the agreement specifies that no tenant will be allowed to stay longer than 30 days at the cabins. The Odums also agreed to apply for a building permit. A third cabin will be built once the permit is received.

re-appointed Robert Marlow and Sherry Dunn to the 708 Mental Health Board for four-year terms.
