The Clothes Closet to celebrate first year anniversary

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA["The Clothes Closet", a free store for everyone, will celebrate its first year anniversary on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, during its regular business hours from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The public is invited to come and help celebrate with cake and punch and to tour the free store, which has enlarged since one year ago.

Since its opening, "The Clothes Closet" has given away over 7000 items of clothing, as well as purses, belts, shoes, baby items, and household goods.

Patrons have come from Sparta and the surrounding area, with the farthest away being 60 miles.

In addition to helping area residents, "The Clothes Closet" has shared donations with Open Arms Ministry of Red Bud, Red Bud School District #132, The Sparta Neighborhood Center, Lutheran Child and Family Services, The Salvation Army, Soles for Souls for Haiti, Randolph County Care Center, Trinity United Presbyterian Church Bible School Program, "Backstage With the Bible", and Rancho 3-M Christian Orphanage.

The free store is located in the basement of Trinity United Presbyterian Church, 301 West Broadway, Sparta, IL where donations, volunteers, and visitors are always welcome.
