Randolph County Progress Committee meeting

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[On April 8, 2010, the Randolph County Progress Committee, Inc. meeting was held at the courthouse. The meeting was called to order at 12:03 p.m. by President Dave Mevert.

Those present were: Dave Mevert, John Petkas, Butch Stellhorn, and Bob Myerscough. Excused were: Ken Slavens, Terry Luehr, Terry Moore and Nancy Crossland.

A review of the minutes from March 11, 2010 meeting was given. Motion to approve by Butch, second by John. All votes yes.

A review was given of the Financial Report. Motion to approve by Bob, second by John. All voted yes.

Interim Coordinator Myerscough reviewed correspondence and updated the committee on a pending site visit, his meeting attendance, and activities.

In Old Business: Bob Myerscough reported that the Southwestern Illinois RC&D had contacted him as they wanted to be involved in the tree planting in memory of Ed Crow. Weeping Cherry Trees and planting sites were selected and it was suggested that the family be contacted to confirm the date of Thursday, May 13, at 6:30 p.m. to coincide with our next evening meeting.

New Business: RCPCI then reviewed the 24 resumes received for the position of Coordinator of Economic Development and chose 8 to interview. Interim Coordinator Myerscough was instructed to contact and schedule interviews with the 8 candidates on Wednesday, April 21, 2010. President Mevert then appointed an interview committee consisting of himself, John P. and Bob M. An interview structure was discussed and agreed upon.

The committee reviewed the proposed Recovery Zone Designation for Randolph County. Motion by Bob, second by Butch to recommend adoption of the designation by County Board. All voted yes.

The next meeting was set for Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 6 p.m., followed by tree planting at 6:30 p.m. and Mayors / Commissioners meeting at 7 p.m.

Motion to adjourn by John, second by Dave. All voted yes. Meeting adjourned at 1:44 p.m.
