Tuesday's prep softball: Lady Panthers outright SIRR champs
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Pinckneyville Community High School's girls softball team put the icing on yet another River-to-River Conference championship in the Mississippi Division Tuesday.
The Lady Panthers (26-1) ended SIRR play with a 9-0 whitewash of Chester, completing league action at 9-1.
Wednesday Pinckneyville visits Carterville to play a rescheduled contest. On Monday, PCHS and Carterville were halted in the fourth inning with the Lady Lions leading 5-0. The game starts from scratch at 4:30.
"We played good defensively and Sara Malanowski threw a one-hitter," Lady Panthers coach Greg Hale said. "Only two Chester runners reached base. One on a walk and the other with a hit."

At the plate, Dani Schoenbacher and Emily Miller each notched two safeties.
Anna-Jonesboro (8-2) finished one game out in the SIRR standings with Sparta and Nashville sharing third place at 5-5.
Du Quoin (3-7) and Chester (0-10) followed.
