The Indians, now 13-7 and idle until Friday's trip to Nashville, scored four times in the first inning and coasted to an 11-3 win.

Robbins (4-1) pitched the first five frames before Kelley relieved.

Du Quoin banged out 11 hits with Sam Gossett's 3-for-4 effort leading the way.

Trent Bigham added two hits and sophomore John Boss belted his first career varsity home run.

"We played very good baeeball today," Indians coach Tim Craft said. "We were able to score some runs early, get the game under control and get some different people playing time. We really had good at bats all game long. Sam (Gossett) and Trent (Bigham) really hit the ball hard today."

Du Quoin's lead grew to 8-0 by the fourth inning.

Steeleville is now 4-10.

Friday, the Indians continue their quest for at least a championship tie in the River-to-River Conference.

Du Quoin has won or shared the last two Mississippi Division crowns.

"Our goal is to just improve every day from here on out," Craft said. "And we made another step in the right direction today."
