Warriors fall to Panthers
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[In high school baseball action last Thursday at Pinckneyville, the Steeleville Warriors lost by a score of 12-2 in five innings. Steeleville stayed with Pinckneyville for 2 1/2 innings, scoring once while making solid contact with the ball several times. But things fell apart for the Warriors in the bottom of the third as the Panthers scored five runs on six hits. Steeleville added one more run in the top of the fifth, but Pinckneyville came up with six more in their half of the inning to end the game.
Andrew Pokrzywinski and Nick Potter each had two hits for Steeleville while Luke Kilgore, Darin Winkleman and Seth Troue added one hit apiece.
Dustin Risinger was the losing pitcher. In three innings he allowed nine hits, walked two and struck out one. Josh Diercks pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed four hits, walked one and struck out two.
