Postmaster charged with sex abuse

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Todd Carson, 43, of Sparta was arrested on March 25 and charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, which are felony charges. Bail was set at $25,000.

Carson was taken into custody by the Randolph County Sheriff's deputies. Sheriff Frederking said he cannot comment on the case at this time.

A preliminary hearing has been set for Monday, April 26.

The alleged offenses occurred between 2008 and this year and involved one case of a victim under the age of 18 and another with a victim under 13.

Carson is employed as the postmaster for the Village of Evansville.
