High speed chase ends in crash

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[On April 2, 2010, at approximately 1 p.m., the Chester Police Department received a burglary complaint from Memorial Hospital in Chester. The report described a white 4-door Cadillac occupied by a black male driver, heading east on Route 150 from the hospital.

A Chester Police Officer located the vehicle and made an attempt to conduct a traffic stop. The suspect fled at a high rate of speed. Seconds later the suspect vehicle clipped an on-coming motorist causing a traffic crash. The accident occurred, approximately 1 mile east of the Chester city limits on Route 150.

The driver, Clifford E. Forrest, 46, of St. Louis, MO, sustained moderate injuries to his right leg as a result of the crash. Mr. Forrest was flown from the scene to St. Louis University Hospital.

Mr. Forrest's charges include Burglary and Fleeing and Attempting to Elude Police, with additional charges pending. Mr. Forrest was also found to have an active arrest warrant for Credit Card Theft out of St. Louis, MO.
