Musketeers split games
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Red Bud suffered an 8-0 loss to Waterloo in high school baseball action last Monday. Neither team could get on the board for the first three innings, but the Bulldogs took control with two in the fourth, four in the fifth and one each in the sixth and seventh.
Stefan Gregson was the losing pitcher for Red Bud. In 4 2/3 innings he gave up seven hits, walked three and struck out three. Tyler Magruder worked 2 1/3 innings of relief, allowing four hits.
Offensive leaders for Red Bud were Carlos Benedict with two singles, Ryan Wendt with a double and Adam Kunkel and Josh Dietz with one hit apiece.
Red Bud bounced back on Wednesday to knock off Metro-East Lutheran in six innings by a score of 15-5. The Musketeers made sure there were no doubts in this contest as they scored eight runs in the first inning. They added four in the third and put the game away with three in the sixth.
Rhett Ringering had a great day at the plate with a double and two singles in four at-bats. Caleb Ratz had a home run and a single for four RBI's, Gregson had a double and a single and Magruder and Jordan Buch added one hit apiece.
Ratz picked up the win for the Musketeers. In five innings he allowed five hits, walked one and struck out two. Dominic Frisch worked one inning and struck out one.
