IHSA Wrestling Finals: Panther grapplers compete at state

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Pinckneyville Community High School senior Tyler Rice (35-8) won one of three matches over the weekend in the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Class 1A State Wrestling finals.

Rice opened the 171-pound class with a win over Brian Appelman of Amboy (5:12).

He then lost to Stephen Birt of Gibson City in a 12-3 decision before falling to Austin Baldwin of Sterling Newman in the wrestle back round, 5-2.

Rice's teammates Walter Eiskandt (34-7) and Dylan Martin (30-10) each dropped opening round bouts and failed to qualify for the wrestleback rounds at 119 and 215 pounds, respectively.
