Lady Warriors drop two
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Last week Steeleville lost to Marissa in Cahokia Conference girls basketball action by a score of 51-28. The Meteors did much of their damage in the second quarter when they outscored Steeleville 14-4.
Alex Gale was the leading scorer for Steeleville with nine points, Jill Winkleman had eight, Megan Lalis put in four, Natalie Ruebke, Nicola Foote and Kassee Theobald had two apiece and Morgan Linder added one.
In their next game Steeleville fell to Waterloo Gibault by a score of 59-46. Steeleville trailed by five at halftime but opened the third quarter with five points to tie the contest. Unfortunately they could not keep the momentum going as Gibault went on a 17-6 run the rest of the quarter.
Lalis had a great game offensively and led the Lady Warriors with 21 points while Winkleman put in 10, Ruebke had eight, Gale scored five and Foote added two. Ruebke was the leading rebounder and Lalis and Winkleman both had blocked shots.
