Junior High Roundup: Tough losses for T/SB boys, girls

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Playing for the first time in over three weeks, Tamaroa/St. Bruno dropped a 15-point decision at Bartelso Monday night in junior high school girls basketball.

The final score was 43-28 as T/SB's record dipped to 18-5.

Thursday night, the Lady Indians battle Pinckneyville (#204) before ending the regular season Jan. 11 at home against DeSoto.

"We struggled early in the game and couldn't find any kind of rythmn until the second half," T/SB coach Jimmy Harris said. "I think the three week holiday layoff hurt but we didn't give up. The girls kept battling."

Haley Szczepanski had 10 points, six rebounds and three steals for T/SB with Bailey Nippe adding eight points.

Dalis Hubler paced the defense with four steals.

BOYS FALL to OLMC

Monday night, T/SB' boys basketball team fell in Quad-County Athletic Conference (QCAC) play to Herrin's Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The score was 46-25 as T/SB fell to 5-14 and 2-7 in league play.

Nolan Luke had 17 of the Indian points. Dayne Winter added seven rebounds.

In the seventh grade game, T/SB (9-2, 8-1) continued a strong season with a 29-19 win.

Luke (eight) and Tyler Iubelt (six) were scoring aces. Adam Banach netted five.
