The Fighting Falcons, now 0-12, dropped their sixth straight Black Diamond Conference decision, 77-55 to Carterville in Piper/Valerius Gymnasium. With Carterville leaving for the River-to-River Conference at the end of the current school year, Tuesday's trip to the "Falcon Pit" was likely the last for the Lions- who are coached by former Elverado mentor Scott Burzynski.

Elverado visits Sesser-Valier Friday and then hosts Cobden Saturday.

Kempfer was the lone EHS scorer in double figures but three players (Wade Bowlin, Jake Lipe and Herby Sandlin) all netted six points and Dalton Hasty added five.

Carterville opened a 41-27 lead by halftime and was ahead 58-41 as the final quarter began.

The Lions had three players score 10 points or more, led by Ryan Bonifield's 18.
