</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Melinda Russell is launching a 12-week, non-profit weight loss challenge in Tamaroa. The program offers a quick, easy weight loss solution and long-term weight loss success, including information on nutrition and exercise.

Russell was inspired by a recent challenge in New England where participants lost a total of 154.8 lb. The top prize in that contest was $300. The winner lost 36.8 lb.

The cost to register for the Tamaroa Weight Loss Challenge is $29. All the money received will be paid out in cash prizes to the top three winners, based on percentage of body weight lost.

The Tamaroa weight loss challenge requires participants to weigh in each week and be measured at the beginning and end of the challenge. Participants will also receive a free body analysis, learn how to shop, portion control, dining out tips and exercise.

No specific program is required; participants can be on Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Herbalife or a customized plan of their own. Recommendations will be available from the wellness coach.

The wellness coach will educate the community about a better healthy, active lifestyle to help fight the obesity epidemic in a fun environment.

The 12 week class is being offered at the home of Melissa Russell: 5302 Parakeet Road in Tamaroa. To register or for more information, call Russell at (618)496-5125.
