#204 Lady Tigers Invitational: T/SB Crowned Tourney Champs
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Despite running square into an unexpected speed bump Friday night-a disappointing loss to Thompsonville (Grade School)-Tamara/St. Bruno's rebounded nicely and took home first place honors at the #204 Lady Tigers Invitational Tournament Saturday.
T/SB (10-2) won four of five games during the week-long event, clinching the title with a convincing 43-26 triumph over host Pinckneyville (#204).
"We played real well," T/SB coach Jimmy Harris said. "Our girls were focused and played hard. I am very proud of these girls. They really stepped up."
In the final game, Kayla Harris (17 points, 12 rebounds and three steals) and Jordan Koenegstein (15 points, six rebounds, six assists) came up big.
Megan Bagley had 11 points for #204.
T/SB defeated fourth place Du Quoin (Middle School) 28-20 Friday as Harris led the way with 12 points and 17 rebounds. Bailey Nippe (eight points, eight rebounds) and Kaylee Rulevish (six points, nine rebounds) also came up big.
DMS (2-3) had nine points from Abby Myers.
In the 23-21 loss to Thompsonville, Harris had seven points and nine boards as T/SB trailed the entire game.
Du Quoin lost 35-11 to 4-1 Pinckneyville (Junior High School) Saturday morning and is 3-6.
The #204 All-Tournament team included Harris and Nippe of T/SB; Alyssa Hirsch and Bagley from #204; Bruns, Mayer and Hepp from Pinckneyville; Myers and Hailey Stewart of Du Quoin; Chester's Roth and Bowlin and Nolen from Thompsonville.
