SIJHSAA State Finals: Warriors Finish Fourth

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Du Quoin (Middle School) returned home from the Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association (SIJHSAA) Class L State Baseball Tournament with the fourth place trophy Monday.

The Warriors ended a banner 21-5 season with an 11-0 loss to Carmi-White County (16-3) in the third place game at Rigdon Field.

DMS had just one hit in the game, a first inning single from AJ Smith and managed just three base runners against CWC righthander Chase Saylor.

Carmi went ahead for good in the first against DMS starter Camden Mercier, plating a pair of unearned runs.

The lead grew to 6-0 after two and was 8-0 entering the fifth when the Bullpups touched DMS relievers Spencer Cook and Camden Youngman for the final three tallies.

Carmi had eight hits in the game.
