</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Perry County Health Department announced that there have been three confirmed cases of H1N1 Influenza in the county. The cases were an infant, a man in his 40s and a grade-school girl.

The Department encourages people to take an active role in preventing the spread of influenza and other illnesses by covering your cough and and sneeze, frequently washing your hands and staying home when ill.

The Center for Disease Control recommends staying home until a fever has been gone for at least 24 hours without use of fever reducing medication. This benefits those that are ill so they can get the rest they need to recover and reduces the spread of illness to others in public, at work or at school.
