BASKETBALL: Elverado girls get first win

Elverado earned their first victory of the season last Thursday night as the Lady Falcons won 47-38 at Chester with Cheyenne Abbadusky's 23 points leading the way.

EHS built their lead early, jumping ahead 14-2 after one quarter of play before fighting off a rally from the Yellow Jackets, who closed to within four at the end of the third.

But in the fourth quarter, Kylee Bedar and Brooke Whittington each had three-pointers and Abbadusky was 4-for-4 from the free throw line as to keep the Lady Falcons out in front.

Bedar joined Abbadusky in double figures with eleven points, Whittington added nine, Tori Ehlers and Kennedy Kimmel each had two.

Elverado is at home against Trico on Monday night, and against Z-R-C on Thursday.
