BASKETBALL: Christopher pulls away to beat Elverado
Elverado struggled to just fourteen first-half points against Christopher on Tuesday night, as the Bearcats pulled away for a 68-35 win over the Falcons in Elkville. With the victory, Christopher improved to 5-0 on the season.
Two Falcons finished in double figures on the night, but EHS shot a disappointing 6-for-14 at the free throw line and had just 22 points after the first 24 minutes of the ball game.
Justin Sarensen led Elverado with 14 points, Tyler Funk had 11, Luke Jones 5, Alec Valerius 3, and Chase Cross and Sage Sarensen both had 1.
The Falcons fell to 3-5 overall and will hit the floor again on Saturday at home against Shawnee with tip-off scheduled for around 8:00 p.m.
That same afternoon and evening, the Elverado Grade School girls will play at EHS beginning at 4:00 p.m., the EGS boys at 5:15 p.m., and the Lady Falcons take on Webber at 6:30 p.m.
