Templeton Fund-Raiser A Success

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The fundraiser to start a scholarship honoring Louis Templeton, who founded the Pinckneyville Community High School FFA Program, raised $16,000 this weekend. Templeton was the Ag Instructor at PCHS from 1939 to 1973. His wife, Myrtle, was the librarian at PCHS for 25 years. She retired in 1980. Templeton celebrated his 97th birthday on Sept. 7. The Templetons' daughter, Louise Schweizer, lives in Pinckneyville. She and her husband, Lewis, were educators in Pinckneyville schools, also. Mr. Schweizer was the Principal at Pinckneyville Junior High School for most of his career. The first scholarship will be awarded at the FFA banquet this spring. Information on applications will be available in the second semester of this school year.
